Our Indigenous Story

At Adina Solutions, our foundations are deeply connected to the land, culture, and stories of the Wonnarua people. One of our company’s owners is an Indigenous Australian, and our journey is guided by the wisdom of our ancestors and the spirit of Country.

The Creation Story of Wollombi

The story begins with Biami, the Wonnarua Creator Spirit, who descended from the stars to Yango. From there:

He created Maray Kiray – the spirit of the water – which flowed through Wonnarua Country.
At Wollombi, Biami placed the Kariwa (Snake) and Kungkang (Frog) to guard the sacred birthing site and protect the spirit of the water.
He created the Bora site, a ceremonial place where people gathered for culture and connection.
His sons took form in the natural world:
- Kawal (Wedge-tailed Eagle), his first son, soared high above.
- Puliyapang (Whirlwind), his second son Tarin, was transformed into the Hunter River Red Gum, providing shelter and shade for the people.
The Wagan (Crow) became a messenger of knowledge and wisdom for the community.

This sacred story represents the balance of water, land, ceremony, and the generations who continue to walk these paths.

The Spirit Behind Adina Solutions

The creation story of Wollombi inspires the birth and principles of Adina Solutions. For thousands of years, Wollombi – the “Meeting Place of Waters” – has been a gathering place for multiple language groups to come together for ceremony, trade, and cultural exchange.

From this story, we draw the elements that shape our company:

The Wagan (Crow) – symbolises the knowledge and insight that both founders bring to Adina Solutions.
The Bora Ground – represents the importance of ceremony, community, and passing equity and opportunity from one generation to the next.
Hand Stencils – mark the connection of co-founder John Carollos, who brings over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. Placed upon the Bora Tree, they symbolise his lifelong work as a licensed carpenter and his commitment to building strong foundations.
